Introduction
Coconut it is widely grown in tropical areas. It's also known as Cocos Nucifera Linn.
Largest producer of coconut in the world in Indonesia. The variety of coconut, in general is divided into two groups.
Drawf coconuts and Deep coconuts
Dwarf Coconuts
This coconut yields nuts every four to six years after plantation. Example: King Malabar (Pretiosa), Coconut King (Regia), and Quali (Pumila).
Deep Coconuts
This coconut yields nuts every 15 years after plantation. The height of tree can reach up to 30 metres. Example: Red Coconut (Rubseens), and Green Coconut (Viridis).
Coconut trees are up to 30 metres long and can live up to 70 years. The coconuts they produce grows in clusters.
One coconut tree contains around 5 to 12 coconuts on one side and produces a new cluster every month.
One coconut tree can also produce between 100 to 140 coconuts per year.
The taste, size, nutrition, water, and coconut's texture depends upon the coconut's variety.
The coconut water is the most healthy part of the whole coconut. It takes 6 to 7 months to produce the maximum sugar and water content.
Nutritional Composition
Amino Acids: L-asparatic, l-glutamic, l-glutamine, l theorine, l-glycine, l arginine, l alanine, and l-tyrosine.
Minerals: Coprum, iron, magnesium Mangnum, zinc, natrium, potassium, phosphorus.
1 cup of coconut water contains:
0 gram fat, 2g of protein, 45 kcal energy, and 9 grams of carbs with 2.6 gram fibre, 600 mg potassium, 60 mg magnesium, 252 mg of sodium, 57.6 mg of calcium, and 0.3 mg of magnesium.
It completes 8% riboflavine and 10% Vitamin c requirements for a day.
